New Workshop! San Mateo Coast and Redwoods
Know how to use your camera but strive to make your landscape images sing? Join me this February for my landscape photography workshop, offered through Palo Alto’s Pacific Art League.
Our introductory session will be Sunday, February 5, 2006, 2:30 p.m., at PAL. We’ll each introduce ourselves, share a few examples of our work, talk about the conditions we’re likely to see on the field trip the following week, discuss equipment and clothing choices, and talk a bit about some of the locations we might visit during the workshop.
The second session will be the field workshop itself, Sunday, February 12, which will start around noon at a location (TBA) along the San Mateo County coast. We’ll proceed from there, rain or shine, to a variety of photogenic locations, most likely including the redwood groves at Butano State Park and several areas of coastline. We’ll continue photographing through sunset.
The final session, our review, will be held Sunday, February 26, at PAL. We’ll share our results from the field discussion, talking about what worked and didn’t work, and more important, why. These review sessions are an invaluable way to improve your photographic technique and personal vision.
The class will be limited to ten participants. Transportation is not provided.
Register on-line here or call PAL at 650 321 3891 for a brochure, which will allow you to register by mail or fax. You can also register in person at PAL, 668 Ramona St., Palo Alto, CA. PAL is open 9-5 M-F, 10-4 Sat. (except holidays). Class tuition is $155 for PAL members, $180 for non-members.
