St Andrews Bay on South Georgia Island hosts a colony of as many as 150,000 penguins. In November 2016 I travelled there, landed before sunrise, and hiked to an overlook to experience the sunrise across a broader protected area of the colony. This particular fellow, and a few of his friends, wandered by the location I was photographing, providing a wonderful opportunity for this singular portrait.
